Bucket Brigade
The birthday cake has a hundred candles and it's basically a bonfire. Form a line, pass the bucket down your phones, and put it out before the other line does.
THE RULES OF THE ROOM
How to play
The big screen deals the room into two lines (three from 25 guests) and shows the order — stand in it for real. The first person's phone lights up with one pictogram: tap, hold, shake, tilt left, tilt right or two thumbs. Do it inside four seconds and the bucket slides to the next phone. The last person tips it on the cake and the candle blaze shrinks. Miss once and the bucket wobbles; miss again and it spills back to the front. Two rounds of 75 seconds, and everyone turns around for round two. Most buckets wins.
On the big screen
Read the lines out loud from the big screen and get everyone standing in that order, facing the cake. Start round one and coach from the bubble over the holder — it shows exactly what they have to do. Use Hold for interruptions, sit out a guest whose phone has died, and Skip to move a stuck bucket along. After round one tell the room to turn around, then start round two.
A backyard at golden hour: two lines of party-hat puppets on the lawn, a bucket sliding hand to hand, a speech bubble over the holder with their pictogram, and a birthday cake whose candle blaze shrinks with every bucket delivered.
In your hands
Scan in, then choose Shake & tilt or Tap only — both are just as good. Find your line and your spot on the big screen and go stand there. Your phone stays dim until the bucket reaches you, then it lights up in your line's colour with one big pictogram and a four-second ring. Do it, and it passes. Late? You join at the next round.
